Abrons Arts Center, the Lower East Side arts institution that has long been a nexus of communities and cultures, today shares its 2019-2020 lineup, which offers an array of art experiences as well as dance, theater, and interdisciplinary performances, exploring the concepts of authorship, agency, activism, and collaboration.

Forma Arts and Wellness is a new performing arts space located in downtown Birmingham. Creators Whitney Renfroe and Brandon Barranco have a passion to offer artists in all mediums a place to craft, rehearse and perform.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT whisks the fabulous Roaring Twenties, that golden era of glamour and music, up and out of the history books and brings it to life in a dazzling new production from esteemed director Chip Gallagher and the Virginia Musical Theatre. Featuring classic Gershwin tunes, this new favorite from Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro is based on a classic 1927 Gershwin musical but reimagined for the modern era. The musical first debuted on Broadway in 2012 and has since made waves on both national and global stages with a 2014-2015 U.S national tour and a successful run at the Stage Theatre in Melbourne, Australia.

OPERA America, the national service organization for opera, has announced that it has awarded grants to 10 opera companies and four teams of artists through two funding programs: The Opera Fund: Repertoire Development and the Robert L.B. Tobin Director-Designer Showcase. These grants support the production of new North American opera and help develop the careers of promising directors and designers, respectively.

The first-ever exhibition of work by Isamu Noguchi to be presented in Greece openson June 27, 2010, at the Museum of Contemporary Art on the island of Andros. Isamu Noguchi: Between East and West, which is on viewthrough September 26, 2010, has been organized by theMuseum of Contemporary Art of the Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation in collaboration with The NoguchiMuseum in New York City. Isamu Noguchi: Between East and West includes sculpture, drawings, models, and photographs, illuminating the diversity of Noguchi's body of work.

The exhibition features paintings by St. Louis artist Wallace Herndon Smith. Born in St. Louis in 1901, Wallace Smith was a traditional painter who absorbed the visual language of artists like Pierre Bonnard, Henri Matisse, and Edward Hopper. Smith was fluent in many subjects including still-lifes, landscapes, interiors, and portraits. The artist's strength was in capturing psychological nuances, and the exhibit has been selected to illuminate this area of his work.
